110% // Jessie Ware

Is it love or just lust? Any which way, this thing we’re feeling for South London-bred singer Jessie Ware hurts so good, we don’t want it to stop. Her new album Devotion is full of dance floor confessions woven with 80s synths and a pleasant throttling of electronica-influenced bass. It turns out we’re not the only ones enamored with the former theater geek and backup vocalist, who has lent vocals to SBTRKT (notably on their single “Nervous”). Just today, Ms. Ware beat out notables like Florence and the Machine to become one of just two female artists (alongside Liane La Havas) recognized by the 2012 Mercury Prize nominations. We just can’t get enough of this soul revival.
