Like many of the best ideas, this one was born on a road trip. Hurtling across the heartland on their way back from SXSW, Eric, Michael and Drew of Greenpoint dance-rock trio BRAHMS dreamed up their recent residency at Pianos. The concept was simple: a full night of music, with BRAHMS joined by some of their favorite bands, including Das Racist, (The) Tony Castles and Class Actress. We caught up with the guys at sound check on the first evening of the residency that would go on to sell out all three nights. As they prepared to hit the stage that night with Tokyo Police Club and Passion Pit’s Ayad Al Adhamy, guitarist Drew Robinson confessed, “hopefully there’s some feeling of honesty that translates through all of the electricity.” Mission accomplished.
BRAHMS is currently on tour with Passion Pit.
